WE HAVE FOSTER HOMES IN NJ, NY, PA & DE!!!!
We are ALWAYS in need of new foster homes!!! We will supply the cage, water bottle, food bowl and of course the piggies. We also handle all the medical should it arise as well as the phone calls and emails so you wouldn't have to deal with the public. There is also no commitment with fostering. You can foster as long or as short as you would like. All you would have to do is supply the bedding, hay, veggies and pellets.
Have-A-Heart is a guinea pig rescue based out of Florence, NJ. It was founded in June, 2001. The rescue works together with the foster homes to rescue guinea pigs and on occasion other small animals from kill shelters and find them loving, forever homes. Have-A-Heart is also dedicated to the prevention of unwanted litters. All proceeds from merchandise and donations go toward our rescued animals veterinary care. Our pet list includes guinea pigs and other companion animals who are in need of loving families!

They have been sitting in the rescue since November 2006 and are STILL waiting for their chance at a forever home. Do you think that can be your home? The boys can be transported to NJ also.
FOSTER HOMES - Foster homes are ALWAYS needed. If you have a little extra space for a temporary "visitor" who LOVES fresh veggies, please contact the rescue to foster one of our many homeless pigs. The more foster space we have, the more piggies get rescued!
DONATIONS are ALWAYS appreciated and go toward the veterinary costs we incur for the proper care of our rescued piggies. Remember...even the smallest donation goes a long way!

APRIL 6th, 2008!!!!! 61 GUINEA PIGS RESCUED YET AGAIN! 61 Piggies were rescued YET AGAIN from the same home where the July 17th, 2007 piggies came from. Thankfully, this home is cleared out of piggies and will hopefully NEVER be able to do this again. Pictures to come soon and please consider adopting a special needs piggie. They need love too.
JULY 17th, 2007!!!! RESCUE OF 11 PIGGIES SO FAR WITH MORE TO COME IN..... Because of the trial, we did have to remove the post about the case. Once the trial is over, we will repost the pics and info. Sorry for the inconvience. UPDATE!!! Sadly, the person resposible for this is off the hook. All the charges were dropped and sadly he stated in the newspaper that he will continue to breed guinea pigs to give away for free. Sadly, more piggies like this will suffer at the hands of this monster.
OLD CASE 8/2006.......HUGE RESCUE OF OVER 140 MORE PIGGIES(Thankfully all the piggies were rescues and almost all are placed in forever homes or foster homes)!!!!
Please help in any way you can. There was a seizure of about 140 guinea pigs from a barn in PA that was raising guinea pigs for FOOD for people! They were found in over 2 feet of feces with dead piggies and maggots all around. Thankfully an animal shelter stepped up and has confiscated them all, but the shelter can not hold the piggies for much longer. Have a Heart has stepped up to help a majority of them and will need help with medical bills as most of them have mites and most are pregnant. We can also use help with supplies and anything else to help care for the piggies. Most of all, we need foster homes. Please email the rescue and we will explain everything there is about fostering.
All leftover money donated towards the barn piggies will go to get future piggies spayed/neutered.
SMALL ANIMAL SITTING: Going away on vacation and nobody will be home to watch the little critters??? Have a Heart is now offering pet sitting while you are away. Email for prices and more information.
C&C CAGES FOR SALE: Need a home for your little family member? One of our volunteers takes orders for building cages. They are made of cubes and coroplast -- a much more affordable housing that is easier to keep clean and there is room to play! Why spend $70 or more on a small trap? These homes are twice the room and are less than 1/2 the amount of a store bought cage! We can build to your size specifications. Contact us for more information.
SMALL CAGES FOR SALE: We have quite a few small used cages for sale that are ideal for travel cages. They are not good to house guinea pigs in permanantly, but they are great for short periods of time. If you would be interested in buying one, please email us for more information.
SEPTEMBER 20th, 2008!!! Have a Heart will be at the Lions Lake Park on Dutchtown Road(Off of Rt. 73) in Voorhees, NJ from 10am to 4pm. Come check us out. No onsite adoptions, must be approved prior to the event to take a piggie home. We will have lots of merchandise for sale. All proceeds benefit the rescue!

Each portrait is uniquely different and attempts to catch the personality of each pig. Sizing varies but will typically range between 4x4 and 8.5x 11. Each portrait purchase also includes basic framing on a floating frame (see Sample Portrait "Mortar"). IN MEMORY OF COCOA2
Cocoa2 crossed over the Rainbow Bridge on 10/23/04 from complications from giving birth. This is one of the reasons why our rescue is against breeding guinea pigs. Cocoa was a baby herself when she came into the rescue HEAVILY pregnant on 10/2/04. She was only about 4 months old when her short life was cut short. The rescue coordinator woke up on the morning of 10/23/04 to find 4 stillborn babies in Cocoa's cage along with a very in trouble Cocoa. We rushed her to the vet as soon as we saw her and they brought her to the vet hospital. They worked so hard to save her and to stop the bleeding, but poor Cocoa was hemoraging and so weak that she couldn't hold on any longer. She will be greatly missed and never forgotten. Please keep her in your thoughts and encourage people not to breed. We don't want to have to hear of any more Cocoa stories.
